I started off 2007 with a very busy week.
On New Years day I performed at Exploration Place for their New Years at Noon event. It was soooo much fun. That was of couse on Monday, Jan 1, 2007.
Then on Tues. we headed down to Houston. It was for a marketing workshop. We drove, it was about a ten hour drive and of course we timed it just in time to arrive in Houston during the evening rush hour. The place we where staying at is actually a small suburb on the south side of Houston. I took some pictures of the trip to share with you but unfortunately they didn’t come out, sorry.
Wednesday through Friday I was at the hotel meeting room from about 8:oo am until about 9:30-10:00 pm long days, but I learned a ton.
On Saturday we had to head back to Wichita, I wanted to be back in time for Thunder Dog’s birthday at the Wichita Thunder Hockey game. We had to leave Houston quite early in order to make it in time. All things considered, how early we left Houston and the long drive I was not nearly as tired as I thought I would be at T-Dog’s birthday.
Then the next week is spent playing catch up getting back on track from the week I was gone… aka why I didn’t get this up last week.
So anyway what is normally one of the slower months (January) has so far been pretty busy, hey I am not complaining, in fact, I am (as always) having a blast!

Last week I was called by Exploration Place to help with an event that they are having on New Years day, called New Year’s at Noon. I will be there on New Years day from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. It sounds like it will be a really fun event, aside from having me, there will be a balloon drop and there will be an inflatable moonwalk. You can find out more at thier website www.exploration.org Hope to see you there on New Years day.

Over the weekend I went to a clown convention/conferance in Oklahoma City, Ok it was a 3 day event Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I only went on Saturday. Most of the stuff was happening on Saturday anyway. So, of course I learned some new things and meet some interesting people. I learned a new balloon creation that I can add to the creations that I make, ask next time you see me and I will make it for you. Best of all it is one I get asked about from time to time (not the most common, but not uncommon either). I also bought a new vest. I should have it in 6-8 weeks it is being made and then shipped, they didn’t have one in the colors I liked, but I really liked the style, look, and quality of thier costumes. Once I get the vest, I will probablly end up getting a pair of pants as well (I haven’t decided on which style pants I like best yet). I know I look great now
but in about 6-8 weeks I will look even better with the new vest.

Ok so here it is a week after Halloween and I have finally come up with a couple of ideas I like for a Halloween costume/character. The first one actually came to me on Halloween night around 7:30 or 8:00 pm… a doctor would be good, I remembered seeing a clown lab/doctor coat available on mooseburger.com (a site that sell great clown costumes and accessories) so I checked out that site and some other places to get ideas and found some props that would go great with a doctor character. In fact one site had a whole section of medical and dental props including a jumbo thermometer, gag x-rays, a clown stethoscope, etc. a lot of them are visual gags that are hard to describe without a picture.
Another idea that came to me after looking at mooseburger.com’s costumes is a fireman. I like the fireman character idea but could not find as many props or come up with as many lines, joke, or other ideas to go with it. There is a place that sells foam props and I found a nice foam axe and foam fire hydrant.
So now I have to decide which I like better the doctor or the fireman, the good news is that I have a whole year to decide.

So during October I have been performing my Spooky Goofy Magic Show. It is a Halloween and trick-or-treating safety show, that I only perform in October… duh, when else would I perform a Halloween show. I use the fun and the magic in the show to help get the safety messages acrossed to the children.
In the show there is a running gag of sorts with spiders appearing and that scare me, and make me jump and scream. I was performing the show earlier this month and there was on little girl who absolutely LOVED seeing me scared by the appearance of the spider. In fact after the show was over she was running around and going up to everyone and yelling “ahhh!! spiders!!!” all the while laughing and giggling. I was talking to and making balloon creation for others. I noticed her running around yelling about the spiders and I said to one of the ladies there “when her mom comes to get her later she (mom) is going to wonder what is the deal with the spiders”. Sure enough a little bit later, when her mom shows up the little girl runs up to mom yelling about spiders and laughing. As I noticed this and the look of confusion on the mothers face, I just had to laugh. Yea sometimes… ok alot of times, the kids make me laugh as much I make them laugh.

Scooter my guinea pig now has his own page. Actually it is just a page on my site, but he wrote it.
For those of you who don’t know, Scooter is my guinea pig and he performs with me in some of my shows. He doesn’t do much in the shows, but then again he doesn’t have to… he’s just a guinea pig. What usually happens is this, he has his box and we open it up to show it empty. We usually have a child helping with this trick and together we wave the wand in, around, and over the box, finally having everyone say the magic words and Scooter magically appears, and of course everyone goes crazy. It is a ton of fun.
Well, Scooter wanted me to tell you about his page so that is what I am doing now… maybe now he will stop bugging me about telling everyone… probabally not he is very proud of it. He has been working on it for quite some time (I’m sure it took him a long time to type with such small paws) in fact he is still working on it, wanting to add more but it will most likely be awhile before that gets done. Here is the page link: http://www.puddlestheclown.com/scooter.html

This is me, Puddles the Clown, I am starting a blog. It is something I have thought about doing for awhile. I have been putting it off for too long, instead doing other projects.
Although I do like writing, it always seem to be more work amd take longer than I was planning on. The good thing is it gets better the more I do it, so hopefully the hard part is just getting started and it will be easier keeping it updated. Speaking of updating it, the plan is to update every week. I am not going to say a certain day or anything like that but about once a week you can (hopefully) expect an update. I have made a list of some ideas I will share in this blog but if you have any ideas, suggestions, or comments or anything you would like to see me talk about then let me know about them.
Oh yea and don’t forget to check out my website www.puddlestheclown.com and you can come by and see me perform every Tuesday evening at Ryan’s Steakhouse west location from 6-8pm and at Ryan’s Steakhouse east location on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm.
